Her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was President and CEO at the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been founded in 1847. The brewery closed in 1978. Jacobs began her acting studies at the age of 8 and was enrolled in acting classes on Saturdays in the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.She was a part of Pittsburgh Public Theater. Pittsburgh Public Theater where she always competed for the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest leading her to being cast as Titania in its performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mt. Jacobs quit Lebanon High School to go to New York City in 2000. There she was a part of in the Drama Division of Group 33. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2004 following having graduated in the Lebanon High School.
